The Woodland Nature Trail was actually an original feature of Rifle Camp Park. The trail starts at the top circle parking area and continues over a section of boardwalk, to the Lean-To camping area. The trail then continues down and up hill, encompassing a variety of environments and forest conditions. The Nature Trail explores the idea of Rifle Camp Park as an “Outdoor Classroom.” There are 18 educational signs and tree identification labels along the way.
Friends of Garret Mountain Reservation collaborated with Passaic County Parks to re-imagine this important learning resource. Visit Rifle Camp Park and walk the Nature Trail!
